Grandmother's China Cabinet, Part 1

Times they are a-changin'. China cabinets are classic pieces of furniture, but how many of us actually have china? Show of hands? Yeah, I see a few of you. Now how many actually use your china regularly? Super-very few of you.

Let's change gears. Buffets! How many of you have your TV on a buffet or dresser or something that resembles the bottom half of a china cabinet? Yeah! That's what I'm talking about! We are all nuts over buffets!

Which means if you have a china cabinet and then subtract the buffet, that means you have... come on, this is basic designer's math... A CABINET!!! Just the cabinet part. No feet. Probably a funky carved top that would be awkward at chin height.

Maybe this isn't you. Maybe I'm just a rambling girl. But this is me! Grandmother gave up housekeeping, so mom got her china cabinet. A few years ago, she painted it up and now the unit will never be a whole. We just have the top. But it's a NICE top!

I'm loving these ideas! So I tracked down some feet on etsy. My super-handy dad rigged them to the bottom of the cabinet (he swears this is not hard), and here's what we've been up to...

For some reason the feet make me think of  a Disney Princess... but when they are painted to match the cabinet, they'll take on a different persona! Yes, furniture is human
