one room challenge: week five

aka the week it all comes crashing down.

Not the project, just me. I have reached the point I feared... the point where I wonder why I added another thing to my plate. The point where I feel like I'm constantly having mini-heart attacks. Stress like whoa, yo!

BUT! We are almost there... ALMOST THERE! And this week was not without progress. All major pieces are in place!!! Do you remember the humble beginning state of this bedroom? Check out these previous posts: week two, week three, and week four.

This week I had a mild freak out moment where I realized this bedroom might look more suitable for a 13 year old. Then I remembered a) in many ways I am 13, b) some day I will have to design for the sexes (remember that show? does it still come on?) but for TODAY I have this room all to myself, so I should make it how I like it, and c) that's just the point: I like it.

I am mildly annoyed that the bed risers poke out from under the otherwise perfect bed skirt. We really are our own worst critic, aren't we?

Usually the panels will be open, but for giggles I decided to show one scrunched back and one pulled closed.

Now just to hang the paint by numbers and style the room. This is the part that usually takes the longest... and I always forget just how long it takes! But I also need for you to weigh in...

Do I hang a mirror over the dresser? Or do I put a tv?

Previously there was a mirror (attached to the dresser). I want to give myself something different and I have other mirrors so I won't go out looking awful. But I also want this to be a room where I can relax and watch a movie. But I also don't know. What's a girl to do? Opinions, please!

Check out what our other friends have been up to this week. My favorite part about this challenge is knowing I haven't been alone!

Until next week, stalk my instagram...
